Who is Steve Luten

First and foremost I want to be a lover of God. My life's pursuit is to know Jesus and to love others as I have been loved by him. I am married, have two adult children and am passionate about doing rigorous outdoor activities, especially anything that involves a bicycle. Beyond that I am the pastor of a small Foursquare Church in Ellensburg Washington.

I have been trained and certified as a spiritual director through Christian Formation and Direction Ministries NW. As part of my practice I am committed to seeing my own spiritual director as well as meeting regularly with a trained spiritual director supervisor for my own growth and the health of my practice.

While I am a pastor, rooted in a particular denomination, my spiritual direction practice is focused on creating an agenda free, non-instructional space for people to explore their relationship with God and the longings of their own heart.

Prior to pastoring I was the director of Yakima Valley Habitat For Humanity. I helped launch Mending Wings, a Native American ministry focused on youth on the Yakama Indian Reservation. And long, long ago I was a campus pastor with Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship at Oregon State and the University of Washington.
